The Algeria national football team drew Group C where they will face the United States, Slovenia, and England. Their first match will be against Slovenia on June 18th out of Polokwane and it will be Match 6 of the World Cup. Key players to look out for will be midfielder Karim Ziani who is one of Algeria’s few potential match winners and is a player who likes to run at opponents. The other is defender Nadir Belhadj who has been a player that continues to stand out on the field.
“The principal objective is to not be ridiculous, to perform honourably and to play football at a high level,” Algeria’s manager Rabah Saadane stated. “We’re going to do our maximum to get to the second round but it’s going to depend on a lot of parameters.”
